Durga wins 50m breaststroke gold at Telangana Masters swimming championship

G. Durga of Ranga Reddy won the 50m breaststroke gold in the 34-39 years age group at the Telangana Masters Inter-District Swimming Championship in Hyderabad. Shaik Sajida won silver and later claimed backstroke gold, while the top two finishers earned Asian Masters entry

Hyderabad: G. Durga of Ranga Reddy won the 50m breaststroke event in the age group of 34-39 years of the 11th Telangana Masters inter-district swimming championship at Amberpet GHMC swimming pool here on Monday.

Shaik Sajida of Medchal Malkajgiri and Megha Shukla of Ranga Reddy finished with silver and bronze respectively.

In the 50m backstroke for women (35-39 years), Sajida won the gold in the 50m backstroke event.

The first and second place winners are eligible for direct entry to the 2nd Asian Masters Championship, to be held in Bengaluru in October this year.
