Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the Hyderabad City Police were following a dynamic patrolling system to control crime and bring a sense of security among citizens.

“The foundation of the patrolling system in the city is the 251 Blue Colt bikes and 123 patrol vehicles moving around designated jurisdictions round-the-clock. The routes are changed regularly after studying the crime pattern in the area,” he said.

On the monitoring of patrol vehicles, the Commissioner said personnel from the police headquarters monitor the movement of the vehicles round-the-clock.

“Minute details like stoppage of a vehicle at any particular place, distance covered and patrolling on real-time basis are tracked from the Command and Control Centre. If a vehicle crosses its designated boundary also, we get alerts as patrolling areas are demarcated,” Anjani Kumar said.

Vigilance teams at the zonal level too constantly check the alertness of patrol vehicles. This apart, there are different routes to be covered for patrol vehicles on all days and local supervising officials decide this depending upon crime incidents, he said, adding that training was being provided to all patrol police personnel in use of technology, dynamic patrolling and other aspects of policing.

“On an average, 119 rowdies are checked by the patrol parties. Similarly, 250 modus operandi (MO) offenders are checked by them,” Anjani Kumar said.

Stating that 1,870 calls via Dial 100 service were received by the police control room in November, the Commissioner said the average response time was five minutes.
