Hyderabad: Light to moderate showers across several regions in Greater Hyderabad on Monday morning caused traffic disruptions and paralysed normal life. Showers during early morning rush-hour triggered traffic jams, reducing the flow to a crawl.
Commuters, including office goers and students, faced hardships as they experienced delays on several main roads, leading to school buses arriving late.
The downpour caused waterlogging across major areas such as Uppal, Secunderabad, Mehdipatnam, Lakdi-ka-pul, Aramgarh, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Seri Lingampally, Patancheru, Lingampally, and Kukatpally.
Traffic chaos affected commuters due to a surge in private and RTC buses between 7 am and 10 am as Hyderabadis returned to the city after spending Dasara holidays.
Traffic police were deployed to manage the flow and ensure commuters reached their destinations on time.
