Earth Sciences University in Kothagudem to be inaugurated in August
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that the newly sanctioned Dr. Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University in Kothagudem will be inaugurated in August. The university, planned during the Telangana Statehood movement, will be developed to world-class standards on a 300-acre site.

Kothagudem: Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the newly sanctioned Dr. Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University in Kothagudem would be inaugurated in August.
He recalled that the decision regarding this university was taken during the Telangana Statehood movement and stated that the Earth Sciences University would be developed with world-class standards on 300 acres of land allocated for the university.
The Minister, along with MLA K Sambasiva Rao, Education Department Secretary Yogita Rana, Collegiate and Technical Education Commissioner K Devasena, Kakatiya University Vice Chancellor Professor K Pratap Reddy and district Collector Jitesh V Patil participated in a preparatory meeting here on Wednesday regarding the university’s inauguration.
It has been decided to set up special committees to oversee the construction of a full-scale university over the next three years> These committees will visit renowned universities abroad to design infrastructure and courses based on global best practices. It was decided to take up fundraising as per RUSA norms.
Telangana Council of Higher Education Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy, its Secretary Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Director of School Education Dr. Naveen E Nicholas, Earth Sciences University Registrar Prof. V Ramachandram, RUSA State Project Director Soundarya Joseph and others were present.
