Earth Sciences University to offer new UG and PG courses
The Earth Sciences University of Telangana in Kothagudem will introduce four new courses — Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, and Environmental Sciences — at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels starting from the 2025–26 academic year.

Hyderabad: Four new courses – Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Environmental Sciences – are set to be introduced at the Earth Sciences University of Telangana in Kothagudem. These courses will be offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels from the academic year 2025-26.
Each of the programmes will have 60 seats. Admissions to the undergraduate courses will be via the Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) and seats will be up for grabs in the forthcoming special phase web-based counselling. The PG seats will be filled through Common Post Graduate Entrance Tests (CPGET) admission counselling.
On Wednesday, Earth Sciences University of Telangana headed by the Education department Secretary Dr. Yogita Rana, along with TGCHE Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy, will hold a meeting on the introduction of the new courses in the university. The agenda includes faculty recruitment, syllabus development and other infrastructure requirements for offering the courses.
Earlier, the State government gave the nod to upgrade the Mining College to Earth Sciences University of Telangana, with a focus on offering disciplines in earth sciences and mining. After the upgrade, the government introduced computer science and engineering and electrical and electronics engineering.
