Sangareddy: BJP MP Eatala Rajendar demanded the Congress government release the Lagacherla tribal farmers from jail after apologizing to the innocent farmers.

Speaking to news reporters after visiting the arrested farmers in the Central Jail in Sangareddy over ‘Mulakhat’ on Monday, Rajendar said the government should remove all the cases filed against the farmers without any conditions. He also asked the Congress government to file criminal cases against the police personnel those who beat the farmers indiscriminately. He said they were surprised as the government was putting so much effort into handing over the poor farmers’ lands to corporate companies.

Tribal farmers in Lagacherla and neighbouring thandas still depend on agriculture for a living. While the market value of an acre was higher than Rs.40 lakh to Rs.50 lakh in the village, the State government was offering just Rs 10 lakh to the farmers. He termed the theory of attack on Collector Prateek Jain as a conspiracy.

Citing the attack on the Collector, Rajendar said the government terrified the farmers and attacked them indiscriminately. He said they were now forcing the farmers to surrender the lands by registering cases and keeping them in jail, adding that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s brother A Tirupathi Reddy was acting like a rowdy in Kodangal constituency.

BJP MP DK Aruna, BJP district president Godavari Anji Reddy and others were present.
