Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said the works of 300 roads in Huzurabad municipality limits were being carried out on a brisk note. He was participating in a meeting with the members of Taxi Drivers Association, Cloth Merchants Association and Vaddera Sangham held in Huzurabad on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister found fault with BJP leader Eatala Rajender for neglecting the constituency especially Huzurabad town. Rajender, who was elected as MLA for six terms and worked as Minister for seven years, had focused more on increasing his wealth and neglected the development of Huzurabad town.

Despite representations from the municipal chairman, councillors and public representatives, the former Minister had least bothered about the development of the town, he said.

Besides the main road, all roads in the town were in bad shape when he visited Huzurabad after Rajender resined. Drinking water had not been supplied to the residents of the town as pipeline works were pending, the Minister said.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao immediately sanctioned Rs 50 crore to Huzurabad when the pathetic condition of the town was explained to the former. Besides completing Ambedkar road, 300 other roads were taken up with the funds.

Despite the Autonagar Union’s request, Rajender failed to allocate land to them. However, they immediately allocated the land and developed the layout, he said and assured to take up constructions with all facilities in Autonagar.

Though double bedroom houses in other areas were completed, not a single house was completed in Huzurabad constituency due to the negligence of Rajender, Kamalakar informed and assured to take steps to provide houses to all eligible people. Huzurabad would be developed on par with Siddipet, Sircilla and Karimnagar, he added.
