Hyderabad: To improve patient care services at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Health Minister, Eatala Rajender on Monday has directed officials to simplify the process of admissions of patients and ensure they are not sent back or referred to other health care facilities in Hyderabad.

Rajender, during a review meeting on NIMS here on Monday directed hospital officials to establish a dedicated reception that will guide and dispense proper information to patients. Authorities have also decided to appoint counselors who can guide, empathise and also counsel the patients and their relatives.

“We are ready to provide the necessary infrastructure and financial support to NIMS so that the hospital can improve its patient care services. The bottomline is that no patient should be denied admission and treatment at NIMS,” Rajender said.

The Minister also urged the health authorities to ensure transplantation services are available to needy patients. “There is a need to provide free organ transplant facilities to all the needy patients at NIMS because it is impossible for poor patients to afford transplant surgeries at private health care facilities,” he said.
