Hyderabad: With Covid-19 infections rising at a faster pace, the State government has decided to tap into the medical infrastructure available at private medical colleges with attached hospitals across Telangana, especially those located in and around the areas under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

As part of these efforts, the Health Minister, Eatala Rajender will meet managements of private hospitals on Saturday so that the infrastructure of private teaching hospitals are utilised, if there is a further surge in cases of Covid infections. The Minister is expected to meet representatives of super-speciality hospitals, private teaching hospitals and nursing homes.

The aim is to ensure Covid-19 positive cases in districts get admission in private medical colleges located locally, which will decrease pressure in tertiary healthcare facilities in Hyderabad.
