ECI revises Telangana electoral roll revision schedule; Final rolls on Nov 9

The Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana. Fresh voters can submit applications until November 9, while claims and objections can be filed until October 7.

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday revised the schedule of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. Here is what a fresh voter needs to do if they want to be included in the final electoral rolls.

Young electors who attained 18 years of age can submit Form – 6 (Application for enrolment of new elector) or Form – 6A (Application for addition by Overseas Indian) along with prescribed declaration, one week prior to final electoral rolls publication on November 9. Applications will also be accepted post publication of the final electoral rolls.

As per the revised schedule, electors and individuals can file claims and objections on the draft electoral rolls up to October 7. Earlier, the deadline was September 16. Similarly, the ongoing notice/disposal of claims and objections phase has been extended up to November 5. The final electoral rolls will be published on November 9.

A total of 2,64,87,213 out of 3,38,26,448 electors in Telangana submitted their enumeration forms. As many as 73,39,235 electors were categorised under the ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate votes). Among those submitted enumeration forms, 60,50,918 electors had anomalies and 32,36,659 voters could not map themselves with the SIR 2002 list.
