Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet naming Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in the National Herald case triggered a political firestorm in Telangana. With rising allegations and mounting pressure, the ruling Congress is facing severe pressure from opposition parties which are demanding immediate action.

Former Minister and BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy charged the Chief Minister of turning Telangana into an “ATM for Congress”. He said the ED chargesheet validates long-standing claims of corruption during Revanth Reddy’s tenure as TPCC president. He said funds were collected by exploiting the hope of political positions, and the same pattern continues even after Revanth Reddy assumed office as Chief Minister.

Adding fuel to the fire, BRS MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan separately demanded Revanth Reddy’s immediate resignation, invoking constitutional and moral standards. “If Yeddyurappa, Suresh Kalmadi and others could resign when named in ED investigations, why is Revanth Reddy clinging to power?” he questioned, warning that the dignity of the Chief Minister’s post is at stake.

Both leaders pointed out that even Congress MLAs and Ministers have exposed the rot from within, citing their public admissions of 30 per cent commissions and backdoor deals. They said the ED’s report only confirms what the public and political insiders have known. “The governance is being compromised by political greed and corrupt practices in Telangana,” Sravan said.
