Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted simultaneous searches at multiple premises in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the murder of former Andhra Pradesh minister and MP YS Vivekananda Reddy in 2019.
The searches included premises linked to YSR Congress Party Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, besides locations associated with other suspects in the murder case.
ED teams also searched the houses of Sunil Yadav, Devireddy Shivashankar Reddy and Yerra Gangireddy, who are suspects in the murder case. The residence of Dastagiri, who later became an approver in the case, was also searched.
The searches, which began in the morning, continued for several hours before being concluded in the evening.
According to information, officials reportedly carried away two bags containing key documents collected during the searches.
The ED is investigating the case from the money laundering and hawala angles, with officials examining financial transactions and other records to trace the alleged money trail connected to the murder.
It may be recalled that Vivekananda Reddy was found murdered at his residence in Pulivendula, Kadapa district, on March 15, 2019. The case was subsequently investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Meanwhile, the agency has not yet officially disclosed details of the documents seized or the findings of the searches.
