Efforts on to ensure all eligible people get benefits of six guarantees: Shabbir Ali

Adilabad: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday.
Mohammed Ali Shabbir, an advisor to the State government, was the chief guest at the Independence Day celebrations in Adilabad. He hoisted the Tricolour to mark the occasion, accompanied by Collector Rajarshi Shah and Superintendent of Police Gaush Alam. Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh, MLA Payal Shankar and several other officials were present.
Ali read out details of the beneficiaries who availed schemes such as Maha Laxmi, crop loan waivers and other initiatives introduced by the government. He said efforts were being made to ensure all eligible citizens receive the benefits of the six guarantees. He cited that 2.39 crore women utilised the free bus travel facility from December 9, 2023 to August 14 under the Maha Laxmi scheme, saving Rs. 82.88 crore.
He said 23,075 new ration cards were issued to eligible beneficiaries in the district, while 4.33 lakh women benefited from subsidised LPG cylinders. He informed that 70.11 lakh farmers were credited with Rs. 6,000 per acre each under the Indiramma Raithu Bharosa scheme in Telangana. He added that 3,500 houses were sanctioned to the district under the Indiramma Housing scheme.
Similarly, Harkara Venugopal, another advisor to the State government, Dr Banda Prakash, Deputy Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council, and Sircilla Rajaiah, Chairman of the Telangana Finance Commission, unfurled the Tricolour in Adilabad, Mancherial, Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Nirmal district headquarters, respectively, as part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA)–Utnoor Project Officer Kushbu Gupta unfurled the national flag at the Utnoor mandal centre. She said the agency was striving to transform the lives of tribals in many aspects.
