EFLU V-C inaugurates Research Acceleration Centre

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Suresh Kumar said the RAC was a unique initiative to step up interdisciplinary and cross-pollinated research at the university

Hyderabad: English and Foreign Languages University, Vice-Chancellor and UGC member Prof. E Suresh Kumar inaugurated the Research Acceleration Centre (RAC), at the university here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Suresh Kumar said the RAC was a unique initiative to step up interdisciplinary and cross-pollinated research at the university and expressed confidence that through RAC, the university will have integrated efforts of research.

He also launched a webpage dedicated to RAC, which will be displayed on the university website www.efluniversity.ac.in.

Delving on the need for initiating the RAC, the V-C said the ranking systems were insisting on impactful research with an interdisciplinary approach, which obviously would place a university to score adequately in ranking high.

Prof Kumar was confident that RAC would provide a launchpad for the university teachers who can form into a group to study or investigate an area or to undertake collaborative study cutting across disciplines. He appreciated the idea that three or four colleagues across the schools and departments in the university can form into research clusters and prepare research proposals related to a particular discipline or for an interdisciplinary study.
