Hyderabad: Eight international travellers from at-risk countries who arrived at RGIA, Shamshabad on Monday have tested positive for Covid-19. The surveillance teams of the health department have collected the blood samples of the 8 international travellers and sent them to CDFD and CCMB for full genome sequencing to ascertain the Omicron variant status, the health bulletin said.
On Monday, a total of 658 international passengers from at-risk countries had landed at the Hyderabad international airport and all of them underwent RT-PCR tests out of which 8 had tested positive.
At present, genome sequencing results of 15 international passengers, who had tested positive for Covid-19, are awaited. So far, a total of 8396 international travellers in at-risk countries have undergone RT-PCR tests at RGIA, Shamshabad out of which 20 Covid-19 positive passengers have tested positive for the Omicron variant. All the international arrivals from at-risk countries, who test positive for Covid-19 are admitted to TIMS, Gachibowli.
