Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements were made at altars for organising mini Sammakka-Sarakka jatara at Rekurthi on the outskirts of Karimnagar town. The district administration authorities stepped up all the measures to ensure smooth conduct of the biennial tribal fair which will begin on Wednesday.
The officials said all basic amenities including drinking water, toilets, bathrooms, parking slots, lighting, barricades and other arrangements were made at the jatara for the convenience of the devotees by spending Rs 1.50 crore. They said that about 3 lakh to 4 lakh devotees were expected to visit the mini jatara at Rekurthi.
In order to avoid jostling between devotees while having a darshan of goddesses, queue lines were arranged from the welcome arch to the main jatara site. The Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has deployed 100 sanitation workers. Besides deploying an adequate police force, the Karimnagar police officials also set up CCTV cameras at the jatara.
