Elderly couple murdered at farmhouse in Rangareddy

Ushaiah and Shantamma, hailing from Nagarkurnool district, were working at the farmhouse for the past few years, say police

Hyderabad: An elderly couple, working as caretakers of a farmhouse, was murdered in Kothaguda village of Kandukur mandal in Rangareddy district on Tuesday night.

According to the police, Ushaiah and Shantamma, hailing from Nagarkurnool district, were working at the farmhouse for the past few years.

They were tasked with the responsibility of security and maintenance of the premises.

On Tuesday night, unidentified persons brutally attacked the couple killing them on the spot.

The Kandukur police, who registered a case, are in the process of ascertaining if the murder was part of a robbery attempt or if it was committed by those familiar to the couple.

More details of the incident are yet to be known.
