Sangareddy: Eleven students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Jharasangam fell ill, prompting mandal officials to conduct an inspection on Monday. The team found rotten tomatoes, bananas and other groceries in the school kitchen, along with insect-infested rice.
The officials also observed unhygienic conditions, with overflowing water from the sump causing stagnation, which had turned into a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
MPDO Manjula, Deputy Tahsildar Karunakar Rao and other officials inspected the premises and sought an explanation from the school staff. They directed the mandal health officer to organise a health camp on the school premises for immediate treatment of the students.
The officials interacted with the students to understand their issues. Speaking during the visit, MPDO Manjula said a report on the prevailing conditions at the institute would be submitted to higher authorities.
