Medak: The Medak police traced a teenager, who went missing 11 years ago from Medak, in Bengaluru. The teenager, who went missing when he was an intermediate student, was now married and living as a businessman in Bengaluru.
According to the police, Kunamaneni Sai Teja (30), left his family on September 7, 2014. His father Srinivas Rao, mother Sarada, and sister Bindhu Madhavi, had searched for him but the family, residents of Lakshmi Nagar in Papannapet mandal, did not file any complaint.
After all these years, Srinivas Rao, a farmer by profession, filed a complaint on April 3 with the Papannapet police, following which the Medak police launched an investigation and tracked Sai Teja down to Bengaluru within a week.
Speaking to news reporters in Medak on Saturday, SP D Uday Kumar Reddy said Sai Teja had said he wanted to lead an independent life and became a businessman on his own without any support from his family.
However, the disappearance of Sai Teja pushed the family into serious depression. The SP suggested that youngsters should not take such hasty decisions because their parents would suffer the most. Sai Teja was reunited with his parents and sister at the Medak police office on Saturday.
Uday Kumar Reddy said his men cracked the case within a short time by utilising available technology available though Sai Teja was not in contact with any relatives or friends. DSP Prasanna Kumar, Inspector Rajashekhar Reddy, Sub-inspector of police S Srinivas Goud and others were present.
