Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The elusive migrant tiger continued to roam in the forests of Ameenguda in Rebbena mandal for the second day on Wednesday, sparking panic among villagers.
Forest officials said the tigress stayed in the forests of Ameenguda beat under the Goleti Section of the Rebbena range. Its pugmarks were recorded at a stream. Two CCTV cameras were installed, while animal trackers were deployed to trail the movement of the tigress.
Similarly, awareness was being created over the presence of the tigress. Villagers were requested not to harm the wild animal.
However, villagers of Ameenguda, Madaram and surrounding forest fringe villages were on the edge following movement of the tigress. They urged the Forest officials to take steps to prevent human loss by diverting the big cat deep inside of the forests.
They said that they stopped harvesting the cotton crop fearing being attacked by the tigress.
Named B1, the tigress was initially sighted in the agriculture fields of Kannala village in Bellampalli mandal before straying into Dubbagudem village in Kasipet mandal of Mancherial district a few days back. It migrated to the district from the neighbouring Kumram Bheem Asifabad district in search of territory late in December.
