EME sailing camp concluded at Hussain Sagar lake
The camp which was conducted by professional and expert sailors of EME SA, provided a unique opportunity to acquire basic and Advanced level of sailing techniques.
Hyderabad: The EME Sailing Association (EME SA) of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) conducted a ten-day Yachting Association of India (YAI) Certification Coaching Camp at Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad from March 21 to 30.
About 80 children attended the camp with age groups varying from 6 years to 21 years, including 52 girls. The camp which was conducted by professional and expert sailors of EME SA, provided a unique opportunity to acquire basic and Advanced level of sailing techniques.
The participants also practiced the associated skills required for sailing, that being of boat rigging, launching and recovery of capsized boats. The young sailors were excited and remained motivated towards learning the sports of Sailing.
EME Sailing Association in conjunction with YAI facilitated providing training to 13 children of BASS Orphanage free of cost, as part of social responsibility. The conduct of camp was challenging with regards to ensuring safety of participants on and off water, while at the same time observing COVID precautions. However, the EME Sailing Association team successfully conducted the camp besides adding a few more young sailors into the sailing fraternity.
