A new show by 50 Cent production announced recently that popular singer Eminem would have a guest appearance in the upcoming Starz series ‘Black Mafia Family’. The show is set to premiere on September 26 on Starz.
Black Mafia Family was one of the most influential and powerful criminal empires in the 1980s’ Detroit and the show is based on the the real life story of Demerrius of “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who formed the Black Mafia Family.
Eminem will be playing real-life FBI informant Rick Wershe, aka White Boy Rick, who became an informant as a teen and was later busted for selling drugs, spending decades in jail before being released in 2020.
While announcing Eminem’s role, 50 Cent explained why it was important to have the Detroit native take part in ‘BMF’, according to ‘Just Jared’.
“I’m honoured and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show BMF,” 50 Cent said in a statement to ‘The Wrap’. “We couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend that is Eminem,” the statement further read.
