Adilabad: Members of the Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) staged a protest in front of the Collectorate in Adilabad, demanding that the government immediately resolve their major issues.
Employees, teachers, pensioners, gazetted officers and Anganwadi teachers gathered at the Collectorate in large numbers and staged a sit-in protest. They raised slogans against the government, alleging a delay in the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission recommendations concerning salary hikes and failure to fulfil their long-pending demands.
The protesters demanded the immediate release of six pending dearness allowance (DA) instalments, cancellation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). They also sought the clearance of pending bills, implementation of health cards, promotions and amendments to Government Orders (GOs) 25 and 190, among other demands.
