Encroachments near Hyderabad’s historic Kali Kaman removed
The four arches used to serve as a gateway to the Charminar.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wednesday removed encroachments near Kali Kaman, one among the four arches surrounding the Charminar.
The four arches used to serve as a gateway to the Charminar. Apart from Kali Kaman, the other three are the Char Kaman, Machli Kaman and Sher-e-Batil Kamanand.
According to Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA& UD) officials, while taking up restoration works of the arches, retaining the historical significance was being given utmost priority and the structure was being restored to its original grandeur. An artistic impression of the arch, post restoration was also tweeted by MAUD principal secretary Arvind Kumar.
