Engineering college student reportedly drugged and assaulted in Telangana

A woman student in Bachupally alleges she was sexually assaulted by a fellow engineering college student after being given tablets and chocolates. Police have registered a case. The family claims college authorities did not take any action despite being informed.

Hyderabad: A woman student of a private engineering college was allegedly sexually assaulted by a fellow student in Bachupally.

As per information available, the suspect named Ashish had been allegedly giving the girl chocolates and tablets, claiming they were sourced from the ‘dark web’ which reportedly caused her to lose consciousness.

It was then that the suspect had exploited the victim while she was incapacitated, allegedly assaulting her on the college premises as well as at a hotel. He also threatened to share her private photographs on social media if she refused to accept his demands.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the Bachupally police booked a case and are investigating.

The victim’s family further alleged that despite informing the college Principal and Head of Department about the matter, no action was taken.
