Sangareddy: Health Minister T Harish Rao urged the elected representatives of local bodies in the Patancheru Assembly Constituency to ensure 100 per cent vaccination in their respective areas. Addressing a meeting at a programme in Patancheru on Friday, the Minister said that the Covid-19 pandemic was not yet over. Saying that several countries such as China, Russia, Singapore, the USA, the UK and other countries were witnessing third and fourth waves, the Health Minister said Covid-19 had forced a few of the countries to enforce lockdowns.
Though they would wish India does not experience the third wave, Rao said it would be a must for everyone to take the second dose so that the impact of the Covid-19 could be negligible. He said that the persons who had taken a second dose would rarely get hospitalised even though they were infected with the virus.
Asking MPTCs, Municipal Councillors, Chairpersons, MPPs, and ZPTCs to ensure conducting a door-to-door survey to identify those who did not take the second dose, the Health Minister asked them to inoculate all such persons. He said that ensuring the better health of citizens was also the responsibility of local bodies’ representatives. Saying that the government was strengthening the hospitals in the government sector, Rao said that Patancheru would soon get a 150-bed super speciality hospital in addition to the existing 30-bed hospitality.
