Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar directed the Additional Collectors of Local Bodies (ACLBs) to inspect Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies to ensure sanitation on daily basis and warned that action would be initiated against officials if there was any laxity.
The Chief Secretary said Telangana introduced new Acts for gram panchayats and municipalities which have to be implemented in true spirit. The post of ACLBs was created to ensure that both the Acts are implemented strictly, he said, at a meeting with officials on Palle and Pattana Pragathi here on Thursday.
He reiterated that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision was to make every gram panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) clean, green and hygienic. All the required facilities, including tractors, tankers and other were being provided, besides regularly releasing Rs. 456 crores per month to GPs and ULBs, he said.
Works pertaining to construction of segregation and dumping sheds, Vykuntadhamas, integrated vegetarian and non-vegetarian markets were being taken up across the State. All these works should be completed and the facilities should be made operational by March, 2021, the Chief Secretary said.
Similarly to ensure more greenery Palle Pragathi Vanam, Tree parks, multi-level avenue plantation should be taken up and completed. Causalities should be replaced and special effort should be taken to ensure survival of plants in the coming summer season by using Gram Panchayat tractors and tankers, he instructed the officials.
Additional Collectors were directed to ensure that early clearances should be given for building permission and also ensure that there are no encroachments, said a press release.
