Yadadri-Bhongir: Telangana Rythu Bandhu Samithi president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Tuesday asked the TRS members to publicise the welfare schemes and development programmes taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashakher Rao in view of the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam Graduate constituency MLC election.

Speaking at the TRS preparatory meeting for the Graduate MLC elections at Alair in the district, Rajeshwar Reddy, pointing out that Telangana State was in the number one position in the country in implementation of welfare schemes, said these schemes had brought about a significant change in the living conditions of the people particularly the poor. “The pro-farmers policies of the government including 24 hours free electricity supply, irrigation facility and Rythu Bima have restored the past glory to the agriculture sector, and farmers have been leading a respectable and dignified life following the increase in their income after the formation of Telangana State,” he said.

The MLC said the per capita income of Telangana was Rs 2.24 lakhs against the national per capita income of Rs 1.34 lakh. “The schemes taken up by the State government led to the revival of caste-based professions resulting in the strengthening of the rural economy,” he said, adding that the State government had also filled 1.5 lakh vacant posts in the last six years.

Stating that the opposition parties were trying to misguide the youth on job recruitment with false figures, Rajeshwar Rao said TRS workers and members should take up door-to-door campaign on welfare schemes and development programmes of the State government and educate the people. The BJP, he said, was practising religion-based politics that was not acceptable.
