Entrepreneur, housewife’s organs donated to save lives in Hyderabad

Two Hyderabad families have donated the organs of their loved ones after they were declared brain dead, under the State-run Jeevandan initiative. Entrepreneur Madugula Deepthi Reddy and homemaker Sharada Neerudi together gave eight organs, offering a new lease of life to several patients.

Hyderabad: Family members of a 42-year-old woman entrepreneur Madugula Deepthi Reddy and 43-year-old Sharada Neerudi, a housewife, who were declared as brain dead, have donated their organs under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative. A total of 8 organs were donated to give a new lease of life to as many patients.

On September 22, Deepthi Reddy, who was the Founder of Womenergy and We Aim, developed a sudden headache and suffered an intracranial (IC) bleed in Hyderabad and was shifted to a hospital. With no improvement, the doctors declared Deepthi Reddy brain dead on September 26 and her husband Pradeep Reddy made the heartfelt decision to donate her kidneys, liver and heart.

On September 23, Sharada Neerudi, a resident of Ghatkesar developed a severe headache accompanied by repeated vomiting and collapsed at home. She was shifted to a hospital and after emergency treatment, was declared brain dead in September 2026. Her husband Narsing Rao made the heartfelt decision to donate her kidneys, liver and lungs helping four patients in need.
