Nalgonda: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Saturday exhorted the villagers to voluntarily participate in ‘shramadanam’ to contribute their might for development of their respective villages.
Along with Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, he participated in Palle Pragathi programme held at Juvvigudem of Narketpally mandal in the district and inspected Vaikuntadhamam (Graveyard) and Palle Pakruthi Vanam (village nature park).
Attending grama sabha held at the village, Dayakar Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been implementing welfare schemes and development programmes whose fruits were reaching all eligible beneficiaries. He pointed out that the Chief Minister ensured that Telangana remains on top in the country in implementation of welfare schemes and development programmes.
Targeting the BJP leaders, he said that though welfare schemes were not properly implemented in BJP-ruled states, the BJP leaders from Telangana have been criticising the State government, whose welfare schemes were being emulated in rest of the country. Stating that BJP had no moral right to criticise the State government on welfare schemes, he advised the BJP leaders to desist from indulging in mudslinging against the State government. “Our Chief Minister has succeeded in solving the decades old issue of fluoride, which had crippled the lives of thousands of people in Nalgonda district. Mission Bhagiratha had also put an end to the struggle of the people to get safe drinking water,” he said. He reminded that every house was getting safe drinking water under the scheme.
Listing out the welfare schemes of the State government, he said that Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits and Aasara pensions have changed the lives of the poor people, particularly women in the State. Farm investment support scheme of Rythu Bandhu, irrigation projects and uninterrupted free electricity supply to agricultural pumpsets have brought back past glory to the farmers in the State, he added. He pointed out that the Chief Minister has continued all welfare schemes including Rythu Bandhu despite the COVID pandemic.
He urged the people to plant six saplings in each house in the village. In addition to developing infrastructure in the government run schools, they would be given a colorful facelift providing a pleasant academic atmosphere. He said that suggestions and opinions of the people would be collected on development of the villages by conducting grama sabhas. The people should keep streets and lanes of the village clean like their houses. Developing greenery and cleanliness were also part of Palle Pragati programme, he reminded. The villagers should unitedly work for proper utilisation of the funds released to their grama panchayat by the State government. Every villager should plant saplings in the available place and take the responsibility of their survival. They should consider the task as their social responsibility, he added.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated “Arogya Seva Centre” at the village.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MLC Tera Chinnapa Reddy Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah and Thungathurthy MLA Gadari Kishore also attended the programme.
