Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the State BJP unit for conducting Padayatras, Panchayatraj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao wanted BJP leaders to exert pressure on Central government to sanction the projects allocated to Telangana as per AP Reorganisation Act.

Kazipet Coach Factory, Bayyaram steel factory and tribal university were three prominent assurances made to Telangana in the AP Reorganisation Act. BJP leaders should ensure that Central government delivers on these assurances and only then they should conduct programmes in the State, said the Minister.

Addressing media persons here on Monday, Dayakar Rao said the State BJP leaders were maintaining a strategic silence even as the Central government continued to betray Telangana in sanctioning projects.

“Medical colleges were not sanctioned to the State and the coach factory was sanctioned to Latur. Yet, the BJP leaders have not raised their voice over this discrimination by the Central government towards Telangana,” charged Dayakar Rao.

He also found fault with Central government’s denial to purchase coarse varieties of paddy as this would adversely affect the farmers in the State.

Government Chief Whip Vinay Bhaskar said Central government’s discrimination towards Telangana continues unabated. In the past, Congress government had sanctioned the coach factory to Punjab and now the BJP government has approved it for Lathur, he said.

“Bandi Sanjay should reroute his padayatra towards New Delhi and fight for the rightful share of projects for Telangana,” Vinay Bhaskar said and dubbed the State BJP chief’s Praja Sangrama yatra as Praja Vanchana (fraud) yatra. MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy and MLC Manchireddy Kishan Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
