Errabelli greets women on International Women’s Day
Errabelli said that women had a dignified place in Indian culture and traditions and they are personified as the embodiment of nature and power. “In our culture, we worship women,” he added.
Warangal: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao wished all the success to the women in the State on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
In a statement here on Monday, he said that women had a dignified place in Indian culture and traditions and they are personified as the embodiment of nature and power. “In our culture, we worship women,” he said, adding that women are recognised and respected by the Telangana State government that had introduced several schemes for the welfare and progress of women in all walks of life.
“Announcing a holiday for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day shows how much respect the Telangana government has for women. Reservation has been provided in local bodies and market committees with the intention of giving equal opportunities to them,” he added.
Condoles death of Dr Kolluri
The Minister also mourned the death of first generation Telangana activist Dr Kolluri Chiranjeevi. “Chiranjeevi played an important role in the first phase of the Telangana movement. He was a person with utmost propriety, who served the people and never wanted to make money. He dedicated his entire life to the cause of Telangana. His death is a huge loss to the State. I extend my deepest sympathies to their family members. I pray that his soul may rest in peace,” Rao added.
