Warangal Urban: Accusing the BJP government at the Centre of showing complete apathy towards Telangana, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Friday urged graduate voters not to be carried away by the false propaganda of the BJP leaders, and to vote for TRS candidates in the graduate MLC elections. Speaking to the media here, Dayakar Rao said: “Despite having no support from the Centre, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been striving for the welfare of the people of the State. Keeping this in view, graduate voters should think wisely before exercising their franchise. I urge them to vote for TRS candidates Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Surabhi Vani Devi.”
Taking a dig at the Centre, he said: “I can show thousand reasons to vote for TRS, you (BJP leaders) show a single reason to vote for BJP candidates in Telangana. Though the NITI Aayog recommended sanction of Rs 24,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha, not a single rupee was given. Moreover, the Centre has not accorded national project status for Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) that was completed at a cost of Rs one lakh crore to irrigate 45 lakh acres.”
Errabelli said the Centre had not set up a coach factory, Bayyaram steel factory, tribal university, medical college, Jawahar Navodaya school, IIM, IIT, IISER, IIIT, NID and IRIT in the State. “The Centre has meted out grave injustice to the Telangana government. It has not even fulfilled the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014,” he added.
Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinya Bhaskar, MLC candidate for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MPs P Dayakar, B Prakash, MLAs N Narender, T Rajaiah, State Planning Commission vice-chairperson B Vinod Kumar, Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao and MLC Saraiah were present at the press meet.
