TRS Graduates MLC candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy's wife, Suryadevara Neelima engaged in a hectic campaign seeking support for him in the election.
Khammam: ‘Behind every successful man there is a woman’ is a saying often quoted to indicate the role played by a man’s wife in his success.
Effectuating what the axiom states in its entirety, TRS Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates MLC candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy’s wife, Suryadevara Neelima has been making earnest efforts to garner support for her husband in the elections.
She has been rigorously touring the three districts – Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda – for the past 15 to 20 days attending election meetings, conducting meetings in residential colonies, contacting government and private employees.
“Since the time available in hand for campaign was limited, I carried out the meetings from 7 am to 10 pm daily to do my bit for Rajeshwar Reddy. I interacted with teachers of private and government schools and colleges, employees of Zilla Parishads, engineering and revenue departments. I even called on my friends and relatives seeking their support”, she said explaining how the campaign went about.
Speaking to Telangana Today on Friday, Neelima, who hails from Khammam district, said her Left background and her activities in employees union when she was working as an engineer in a government department helped her approach the voters with ease.
She said she explained to the voters the role played by Rajeshwar Reddy in resolving issues like UGC scales for lecturers, release of fee reimbursement to private institutions and in the enhancement of wages of contract lecturers.
The response from all the sections has been very good and they all supported the TRS government though some raised issues, Neelima said. “Government employees raised issues like PRC, but I assured them that the government will address the issue positively.”
“After Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao gave the TNGOs and TGOs an assurance on the PRC, many called me to thank and said they would support the TRS in the election. I am cent per cent confident of Rajeshwar Reddy’s victory in the election,’ she said.
Neelima, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Anurag University, said this is the third election for Rajeshwar Reddy and that she had campaigned along with local TRS leaders. She also campaigned for TRS in the recent GHMC elections.
