Ex-CJI Chandrachud inaugurates hi-tech Samridhi Studio, stresses responsible press freedom

Former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud inaugurated Dynamite News’ hi-tech ‘Samridhi Studio’ in New Delhi on Wednesday. Emphasising that press freedom is central to democracy, he said it must be exercised responsibly.

New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India Dr DY Chandrachud on Wednesday inaugurated a hi-tech digital media studio named ‘Samridhi Studio’ by Dynamite News. 

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Chandrachud said press freedom holds the highest value in a democratic society. “No democracy can exist in the absence of a free press. But freedom is not the freedom to abuse but it is the freedom to be used responsibly.


He pointed out that the right to question was at the heart of the rule of law and democratic governance. The Indian Constitution guaranteed the Right to Information and Right to Freedom of Expression. The Right to question is the basis for existence, he averred.

Dynamite News chairperson Rani Tibrewal and Editor in chief Manoj Tibrewal were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Rani Tibrewal said the launch of the studio was a milestone in the rapid expansion of the company. The state-of-the-art studio reflects the company’s innovation, technological excellence, next-generation digital journalism as well as its audience, said Manoj Tibrewal in his welcome speech.
