Excise sleuths seize 91 liquor bottles in Hyderabad
The Prohibition and Excise Department in Hyderabad seized 91 bottles of liquor being smuggled into the city from Goa, Ahmedabad and Rajkot. A case has been registered against those involved in smuggling.
Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department sleuths on Thursday seized 91 bottles of liquor being smuggled illegally into the city.
On receiving information, the special teams conducted searches in cars and buses at Pahadishareef, Shamshabad and other places. The police seized 91 bottles of liquor being smuggled into the city from Goa, Ahmedabad and Rajkot. The non-duty paid liquor results in losses to the state exchequer, said the department officials.
A case has been registered against those involved in smuggling.
PD act invoked against Tabrez in Hyderabad
The Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, invoked PD Act against Mohammed Tabrez alias Tabbu, against whom a rowdy sheet is maintained at Rein Bazaar police station. Tabrez is involved in four cases including a murder case of Mohammed Masiuddin, registered at Rein Bazaar police station.
