Exclusive with Telangana Today: Raccha Ravi on his journey from village stage to Bollywood
In an exclusive with Telangana Today, actor Raccha Ravi reflects on his journey from mimicry stages to Bollywood debut with Jaat, celebrating versatility, discipline, and upcoming Telugu films Akhanda 2 and more.
Hyderabad: Every successful artist carries a story of persistence, and for mimicry artist-turned-actor Raccha Ravi, it began in his small village with nothing but a request: “Please give me ten minutes, I will make you all laugh.” That single line became the doorway to a career that now stretches across television, radio, and cinema, including his recent Bollywood debut.
From Diary Pages to the Big Screen
Speaking to Telangana Today in this exclusive conversation, Ravi recalled how his journey was guided by a childhood habit. “I always kept a diary. I used to write about how I wanted to design my life. First mimicry, then television, and then cinema. I worked hard step by step to make it happen,” he said.
Friday nights in his village were spent glued to Hindi films on TV. Without formal training, he picked up the language, nurturing a dream to one day act in Bollywood. That dream became reality this year with Jaat, where he shared screen space with Sunny Deol. “It may have been a small role, but being part of the story itself was very special for me,” Ravi said.
Versatility Over Typecast
Ravi is proud that his roles have never fallen into a fixed mold. “In the industry, once you play a certain role, similar roles follow. But my journey has been different. I was lucky to explore variations,” he said, adding that he draws inspiration from veterans like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Tanikella Bharani, and Naga Bhushanam.
With over 140 films to his credit, his filmography includes acclaimed works like Shatamanam Bhavati, Gaddalakonda Ganesh, Bhagavanth Kesari and Balagam. “Every role I have done is different. That gives me happiness as an actor,” he said.
Learning from the Stars
Over the years, Ravi has shared screen space with some of the biggest names in Telugu cinema. “From Chiranjeevi sir and Pawan Kalyan sir to Ram Charan, Nani, and Prakash Raj, the experience of working with them is something I will carry lifelong.” he said.
Ravi considers punctuality and sincerity as his mantras. “I always try to be on set before everyone else. That discipline is something I will never let go of,” he added.
Looking Ahead with Confidence
While Ravi is still cherishing the joy of his Bollywood debut, he remains firmly rooted in Telugu cinema. His upcoming projects include Akhanda 2, K-Ramp, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Mass Jathara.
As he continues to balance dreams with discipline, Raccha Ravi’s story stands as an inspiring reminder that persistence, planning, and passion can take an artist from a small village stage to the grand world of Bollywood.
