Khammam: Commissioner of Police (CP) Vishnu S Warrier distributed face guards to police personnel to protect themselves from Covid-19 on Wednesday.
As many as 150 officials and personnel were given the face guards provided by NRI Foundation at a programme here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion the CP said the department was taking required measures for the safety of personnel working in the field enforcing lockdown.

Warrier informed that steps like regular monitoring of staff health, conducting Covid tests and ensuring proper medical care for those who tested positive for the virus were being taken. He inspected several localities in Khammam monitoring implementation of lockdown.
Poice seized 1200 vehicles during the past 15 days for violating lockdown rules. Public should not come out without a valid reason during the lockdown period and if anyone was found moving on the roads unnecessarily action would be taken against them, he said.
The CP along with Sathupalli MLA S Venkata Veeraiah distributed face masks, sanitisers and water bottles to Asha workers and police personnel working at a border check post at Muthugudem village of Penuballi mandal in the district. The material was arranged by the MLA.
