Khammam: A BRS delegation led by former Sathupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah urged District Collector Divakara TS to order a probe into the recent recruitment for pre-primary posts in Khammam.
Accompanied by aggrieved candidates, the leaders met the Collector here on Thursday and submitted a petition over alleged irregularities in the recently conducted recruitment process for pre-primary instructor and ayah posts.
Later, speaking to the media along with party leaders Bellam Venugopal, Pagadala Nagaraju and Bhashaboyina Veeranna, Veeraiah expressed deep concern over the injustice meted out to eligible candidates during the recruitment process. The BRS party would stand by the affected candidates and approach the High Court over the alleged irregularities, if necessary, he said.
The former MLA stated that, as per the departmental rules, the selection process was based on Intermediate (10+2) qualification and relevant training or additional credentials. However, the District Educational Officer (DEO) issued orders allotting 30 to 50 marks for interviews, a system not followed anywhere in the State.
The BRS party questioned the motive behind ignoring qualified candidates and appointing ineligible candidates on the basis of interview marks, Veeraiah said, demanding that the DEO reveal the candidate-wise final merit list, waiting list, interview marks and additional weightage marks.
He appealed to the Collector to conduct an impartial inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the selection process and take appropriate legal action against those found responsible. He also demanded that the recruitment be conducted again in a transparent manner without any political influence.
