‘Failures taught me success,’ says Thakur Anoop Singh
Singh, who is all set for a lead role in the upcoming film Singam 3, gets candid about a variety of things in his life
Thakur Anoop Singh is a star across industries. He is a playback singer, model, actor, athlete, and pilot. He was first seen in the hit television series Mahabharat and later won a gold medal in a bodybuilding contest in Bangkok, Thailand. He was Mr. India 2015 and Mr. World 2015. He has now signed a lead role in Singam 3.
This talented actor was first a pilot from the USA and later moved to India and tested his luck on the small screen. He gave more than 129 auditions and got rejected, but his dedication towards his goal made him achieve success in various fields.
Anoop started his acting career with serials such as Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan, Shree Krishn Kahani Chandrakanta Ki, Chandragupta Maurya, Jai Bajrangbali, Ramayan, Mahabharat, and Akbar Birbal. Through these serials, he connected with the audience.
The actor is known for his signature long locks. “I have sported the long hair look from my Mahabharat days. Now, after six long years, I have chopped my hair and it feels lighter now,” he says with a laugh.
Interestingly, Anoop sported 15kgs worth of costume and jewelry for the serial. “I have been working continuously for 12 hours in a stretch. The best thing is that I love to keep hustling because we keep learning new things every day on sets. I have improved my skill set a lot over the years,” says Anoop, who has been a model from the age of 17 years.
“I have been trained under Rajit Kapur and Shernaz Patel before getting into the acting industry, which became an added advantage for me. I was clueless before getting into the industry, but after getting trained under the right people I got to know how to present myself better,” added Anoop, who is a pass out from the prestigious Fergusson College in Pune.
Talking about his other passions, he says “I’m a fitness and travel freak. I keep exploring new places and due to the pandemic I had to pause myself. Now, I am only concentrating on fitness,” says Anoop, who works out six hours every day to maintain his six-pack abs.
Anoop has worked in a number of films including Commando 2, Rogue, Achari America Yatra, Na Peru Surya, Na Illu India, and Yajamana Khiladi. The handsome hunk says he would love to explore OTT platforms as well. “Action and love stories are my favorite genres,” he concludes.
