Fake birth certificate row in Asifabad: Panchayat Secretary suspended
A Panchayat secretary and a computer operator in Sirpur (T), Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, were suspended and dismissed respectively for issuing a fake birth certificate.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A Panchayat secretary was suspended and a computer operator sacked for issuing a fake birth certificate at Sirpur (T) mandal centre by the Collector K Haritha on Friday.
The secretary Shainy Thirupathi was suspended for showing negligence and flouting norms in registering the birth of Ponna Srinidhi on a unified portal for recording births and deaths. Computer operator Neelesh was removed from service for his role in registering the birth.
Thirupathi and Neelesh entered the birth of Srinidhi on the portal even though her name was not registered in the register of births, violating rules. An inquiry was conducted into wrongdoings of the secretary and operator. Accordingly, action was initiated against the two, based on a report filed by officials.
