Sangareddy: Telangana Praja Sangala JAC chairman Y Ashok Kumar, along with the families of the Sigachi blast victims, submitted a representation during the grievance day at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Monday, urging officials to ensure that the affected families receive all eligible benefits.
Ashok Kumar demanded that the government issue death certificates for the eight persons whose bodies were not recovered after the blast. He said the families had been moving from office to office since the incident, unable to access compensation and welfare schemes without the certificates.
He also sought directions to ensure that the 28 injured workers, who remain bedridden, receive regular salaries from the management until they recover and are able to resume work. He added that around 60 other workers, who suffered injuries but are now out of danger, had not been given work or salaries since the explosion.
Kumar appealed to Collector P Pravinya to take swift action to deliver justice to the victims of the Sigachi blast, which claimed 54 lives on June 30.
