Hyderabad: The families of two brain-dead persons — a 26-year-old software employee and a 60-year-old housewife — have donated their organs to needy patients.

On September 16, Kudikyala Vinay, a resident of Sriram Nagar Colony in Kamareddy, lost consciousness due to a brain tumour and collapsed at his home. He was subsequently shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad.

His health condition did not improve, and doctors declared him brain dead on September 19. His father, Kudikyala Mohan, made the heartfelt decision to donate his kidneys, liver, heart and lungs, helping five patients in need.

On September 17, Padma Andalu developed a high fever and subsequently lost consciousness. She was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad and, after emergency treatment, was declared brain dead on September 19.

Her son, Padma Vinod Kumar, made the decision to donate her kidneys and liver, helping three patients in need.

Jeevandan Telangana extended its gratitude to the family members of Vinay and Padma Andalu for taking the noble decision and helping save the lives of needy patients.
