Kalagiri Srinivas Reddy of Vidyanagar had a pet dog named ‘Milky’ for the last six years. The dog, which fell sick in the recent past, died on August 21. Srinivas Reddy and his family members, who reared the dog with love and affection, felt disappointed over the death of their beloved one.
Besides performing the final rituals of the dog following Hindu customs, third and fifth-day ceremonies were also performed. On Wednesday, Peddakarma was also performed. Suma, wife of Srinivas Reddy, said they were saddened over the death of Milky, which was like a family member. They were unable to digest the demise of a pet, which used to guard their house, she said.
