Mancherial: A 62-year-old farmer died of electrocution when he came in contact with a pipe through which electricity was passing while he was operating an electric motor at his agriculture field at Nelki Venkatapur village in Dandepalli on Thursday. This is the third such incident reported from this mandal this week.

Dandepalli Sub-Inspector T Srikanth said the deceased was Pettem Linganna, a farmer from Nelki Venkatapur, who died on the spot. Some neighbouring farmers noticed his body and alerted his family members. He was trying to water his paddy crop at the time of the mishap. Shirisha, the daughter of the victim lodged a complaint with police.

On October 10, a 52-year old farmer Chinta Poshanna was accidentally electrocuted when he was trying to switch on his electric motor at his agriculture field in Korvichelma village of Dandepalli mandal. Banoth Soma Naik (36), a farmer too met the similar fate when he was trying to operate an electric motor at Kalwada village in Dahagaon mandal on October 8.
