Farmer electrocuted while watering maize crop in Nirmal

A 54-year-old farmer from Surzapur village in Nirmal district died after being accidentally electrocuted while irrigating his maize crop on Saturday night. He was found dead near a well on his farm. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

Nirmal: A 54-year-old farmer died after he was accidentally electrocuted while watering his maize crop at Surzapur village in Khanapur mandal on Saturday night.

Police said Pannela Venkata Ramaulu was found dead after he came in contact with a live wire at a well on his farm. He had gone to irrigate the crop by switching on the electric motor on Saturday night and did not return home even on Sunday morning. His friends later found his body at the well.


Ramulu is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

Based on a complaint lodged by his family members, a case was registered and investigation is underway.
