Sangareddy: Excise and Enforcement officials HA Mohan Kumar and S Ramesh Reddy on Wednesday raided the agriculture field of a farmer at Huligera village of Raikode Mandal and identified 4,500 ganja plants grown as inter crop in the four-acre cotton field. The cost of the ganja plants was estimated at Rs one crore.
The cotton field is owned by K Narasimha Reddy, a resident of Mirzapur in Nyalkal Mandal, said the officials. After destroying the plants, police took Narasimha Reddy into custody. The accused was taken to Excise Police Station at Zaheerabad for further investigation. SI KM Viswanath and others were present.
