Farmer killed in road accident in Mahabubabad
A farmer died and another sustained critical injuries after their two-wheeler collided with a lorry near Jagan Nayakula Gudem on the Gudur–Mahabubabad highway. Locals staged a protest demanding Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia for the deceased farmer’s family.
Mahabubabad: A farmer was killed and another sustained severe injuries after their two-wheeler collided with a lorry near Jagan Nayakula Gudem stage on Gudur- Mahabubabad national highway on Sunday.
The accident occurred when the victims, identified as Bhanotu Lalli and Dharavath Veeranna, were en route to Boddigonda on a two-wheeler to obtain urea tokens for agricultural purposes.
According to police, the two-wheeler rammed into a lorry, leading to the immediate death of Lalli at the scene. Veeranna, a resident of Dubbagudam village, suffered critical injuries and is currently in a serious condition at a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Eyewitnesses described the collision as sudden, with the impact occurring at high speed on the busy stretch of the highway. Farmers from Dubbagudem staged a protest demanding an exgratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased.
