Hyderabad: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government, Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration was neglecting farmers and putting them to severe hardships, while party leaders indulged in petty power-sharing disputes.
He highlighted the plight of farmers whose hard-earned paddy crops were rotting in the fields due to untimely rains and floods. He criticised the government for scrapping key farmer welfare initiatives and failing to deliver on promises.
“No Rythu Bandhu, no loan waiver. The bonus is bogus, and there’s no direction for paddy procurement,”
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, he came down heavily on the government for its unfulfilled promises that have left the agrarian community in despair.
“The paddy for which farmers toiled all through the season, is getting drenched and spoiled in godowns and procurement centers due to unseasonal rains, washed away by floods, while our farmer brothers and sisters are crying out in agony,” he said.
In sharp contrast, Congress leaders, instead of addressing these crises, were locked in squabbles over sharing of the spoils as part of the ‘how much for you, how much for me’ game, he added.
