Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Farmers from Ainam village staged a sit-in on Sunday in front of the divisional engineer’s office of the NPDCL in Kagaznagar, protesting against frequent fluctuations in electricity supply. They demanded uninterrupted power for agricultural needs.
The farmers alleged that low-voltage supply was causing their paddy crops to wither. They also claimed that department staff were demanding bribes to perform their duties, compounding their difficulties.
They vowed to continue the protest until the issue was resolved but withdrew after officials assured them of action. The officials promised to inquire into the allegations and warned that strict measures would be taken against staff found harassing farmers for bribes.
